Garlic Pickle – பூண்டு ஊறுகாய்
Ingredients
- 1 cup of Garlic / பூண்டு
- Curry leaves / கறிவேப்பிலை
- 1 spoon of Turmeric Powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
- 1 cup of Red Chili / சிவப்பு மிளகாய்
- Tamarind / புளி
- Hing / பெருங்காயம்
- Salt / உப்பு
- Sesame Oil / நல்லெண்ணெய்
- Water / தண்ணீர்
- Pour some sesame oil (நல்லெண்ணெய்) in the Tawa and fry the garlic (பூண்டு) for few seconds and keep it aside.
- Pour some sesame oil (நல்லெண்ணெய்) in the Tawa and fry the small bar of Hing (பெருங்காயம்) and keep it aside
- Pour some sesame oil (நல்லெண்ணெய்) in the Tawa and fry the red chili (சிவப்பு மிளகாய்) for few seconds and keep it aside
- Now add fried red chili (சிவப்பு மிளகாய்), small ball of Tamarind (புளி), salt (உப்பு) as per your requirement, 1 spoon of Turmeric powder (மஞ்சள் தூள்) and fried Hing (பெருங்காயம்) and blend it well.
- Now add fried garlic and blend it together
- After it is blended, take the mixture and once again on place it on the tawa to fry for few more seconds. (If you required pour some water and oil).
- Now Garlic Pickle is ready
Enjoy having the hot and spicy garlic pickle with your meals. Best to have it with Curd Rice. However you can also mix it with boiled rice and have it. You can even apply it like sauce (instead of tomato sauce) in the sandwich to double the taste.
